Verrency recently closed its $10 million Series A funding round and has a series of agreements with banks around the world, including Australia’s Volt Bank.

The appointment of Ms McGrath comes as Verrency is accelerating its global strategy by adding new customers and partners. The firm was named Innovator of the Year at the Fintech Business Awards this year, given out by Investor Daily’s sister publication.

Verrency’s founder and chief executive, David Link, welcomed Ms McGrath to the growing platform.

“Her extensive global industry knowledge – built over a career working at some of the world’s largest financial institutions – is a tremendous asset as we work to deliver our world-class API platform that delivers cost-effective value-added payments capabilities,” Mr Link said.

“Her dedication to innovation and her ‘no-nonsense’ understanding of what it takes to actually deliver payments innovation align perfectly with Verrency’s vision of empowering banks to easily offer their customers a hyper-personalised payments experience.”

Ms McGrath has over 35 years of experience in financial services, most recently as head of business transformation at Mastercard Australia where she led the business transformation and integration of newly acquired loyalty solutions businesses.

She has also previously worked as head of go-to market strategy at Mastercard and before that was at HSBC Hong Kong and ANZ Retail Banking.

Ms McGrath said, “It [Verrency] is seriously good technology with a leadership team and advisory board that is as experienced as it is diverse. I look forward to working with David to help the company capture its enormous market potential.”
