Carolyn Kay has been appointed a part-time member of the Foreign Investment Review Board for a five-year term by the Morrison government, while Professor Deborah Ralston is back as a part-time member of the Reserve Bank’s Payments System Board for an additional five years.
Ms Kay has more than 30 years of experience in the finance sector in both executive and non-executive roles, and has previously held executive positions at Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and Linklaters & Paines.
She is currently a member of the Future Fund’s board of guardians and a non-executive director at Scentre Group and the General Sir John Monash Foundation.
“The appointment of Ms Kay continues the high level of skills and experience on the Foreign Investment Review Board that is required to deal with the increasingly complex foreign investment proposals it examines,” said Treasurer Josh Frydenberg.
Professor Ralston joined the Payments System Board in 2016 and had made a “valuable contribution” to its decision-making during her term.
She is a professional fellow at Monash University and was recently appointed to the Future Fund’s board of guardians,
Her previous experience has included serving as chair of the SMSF Association and as inaugural chair of ASIC’s Digital Finance Advisory Committee.
“The reappointment of Professor Ralston maintains the high level of skills and experience on the PSB Board,” said Mr Frydenberg.
Both Ms Kay and Ms Ralston were panel members of the Retirement Income Review.
