Ms Malin has a reported five years’ experience with Lakehouse’s parent company, The Motley Fool, based in the US.

She is set to remain in the US working remotely, assisting with coverage of a number of locally based holdings and opportunities.

Ms Malin is intended to relocate to Sydney mid-year, once current travel restrictions are eased.

Meanwhile, Mr Mai has joined Lakehouse Capital from Franklin Templeton, where he worked as a member of the Templeton Global Equity Group for the last three years.

Prior to that, he had worked with Morgan Stanley. He is based in Lakehouse’s Sydney office, reporting to chief investment officer and co-founder Joe Magyer.

Mr Magyer commented the addition of the new hires will bolster the firm’s research efforts and “provide additional cross coverage and support” for the Australian small-cap and global growth strategies.

“We are seeing increased demand and interest in the funds having generated strong returns over four years and three years, respectively,” he said.

“Now is therefore the right time to invest in our business to ensure we continue to focus on delivering strong investment returns for our clients and to help drive the next stage of our evolution and growth.”

Ms Malin commented she is excited to “have the opportunity to contribute to Lakehouse’s future growth directly”, reflecting on her experience with Motley Fool.
