New board member Cate Wood has worked in the profit-for-member superannuation sector for more than 20 years, including as chief executive of the former AGEST fund and as chair of CareSuper.
The other addition, Mark Goodey, is the Australian Workers Union CFO and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
Mr Goodey has joined the board at the beginning of the year with the end of former Sunsuper chair Ben Swan’s term.
Further, Sunsuper noted that with Ms Wood’s hire, it will have more than 40 per cent female directors.
Sunsuper chair Andrew Fraser commented: “Ms Wood and Mr Goodey bring skills and experience that will add to the capacity of our board to [lead] and govern the fund in the interests of its 1.4 million members.”

The company reported it has more than $70 billion in funds under management.
