Super Review is proud to launch the 10th annual Super Fund of the Year Awards, which has set the standard for the top super funds in the Australian marketplace.

The Super Fund of the Year Awards is the most anticipated and unparalleled awards program of the year that provides national recognition to the top businesses and professionals in the superannuation sector.

Run with the support of research partner SuperRatings, the program will culminate in a black-tie gala ceremony on Wednesday, 25 October 2023 at Grand Hyatt, Melbourne. Click here to buy tickets.

The awards champion super fund trustees and executives, as well as group insurance executives and custodians who have gone above and beyond for their clients and consistently achieved outstanding results in their business.

Winning a Super Fund of the Year award could elevate your business and personal brand above the rest and set you apart from your competitors, while unlocking new career opportunities.

Judged by a panel of well-respected academics, business executives, entrepreneurs, and innovators, a Super Fund of the Year award is a peer-reviewed recognition of your capabilities in superannuation advice and passion for propelling the industry forward.

Submit your entry into two categories

There are 24 individual and group categories on offer this year, out of which two are submissions-based, and one will be determined through a vote by financial advisers.

Super Review is calling on the superannuation industry to submit an entry or nominate a worthy colleague in two of the submissions-based individual categories by Friday, 11 August 2023.

The first — which is Industry Thought of the Year — will recognise a thought leader who champions growth, development, and success by voicing new and challenging ideas and articulates the desired direction of the industry.

The second category is Marketer of the Year — which will recognise a leading marketing, PR or communications professional who supports the superannuation sector via the provision of services to managers and firms.

They should also effectively demonstrate that their role and advice have transformed and helped improve reputation, best practice, and professionalism in the superannuation space.

The recipient of the Best Super Fund of the Year award will be determined through a vote by financial advisers.

The remaining 19 categories will be determined by Super Ratings. Click here to review SuperRatings’ judging process.

The research house will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the awards, conducting thorough and independent research on super funds.

It will add significant value to the process and provide greater transparency and insight into the investment products and services that are being recognised.

SuperRatings executive director Kirby Rappell said the research house is excited to partner with Super Review for the Super Fund of the Year Awards.

“The event allows us to increase awareness of those funds going above and beyond for their members by shining a spotlight on the top performers,” he said.

“Through a range of new and innovative awards dedicated to superannuation, we are focused on highlighting the best the industry has to offer, while supporting a great opportunity for the industry to come together and celebrate providing better outcomes for everyday Australians.

“We are committed to having the highest quality ratings and research in the market, underpinned by our rigorous process, to ensure the value of the awards and that this event shines brighter than ever.”

Methodology to judge submissions

All submissions undergo a thorough audit process, checking demographic and other information against category eligibility criteria based on the information provided in the submission.

Those submissions deemed eligible against the criteria are reviewed and assessed by a panel of Momentum Media events and editorial team members, and executives (along with industry stakeholders where required) to determine the finalists for each category.

The awards are open to every organisation and professional that supports the Australian superannuation industry, including the largest institutions, funds, boutique challengers, senior professionals, and rising stars.

Laura Dew, editor of Super Review, said: “With the super industry growing to $3.5 trillion, super fund performance and benefits for members have never been more important or more under scrutiny.

“I look forward to welcoming the finalists at this year’s awards and celebrating their achievements and impressive results.”
