June Wong will join SSGA in March 2016, taking up the role of senior managing director and head of the asset manager’s Asia ex-Japan business.
SSGA head of APAC Lochiel Crafter said, “June brings over two decades of experience and expertise leading institutional business development and strategy to this role.
“She will be an enormous asset to the business and is well-positioned to understand the varying and complex needs of our clients and to drive SSGA’s strategic growth ambitions across the region.”
Ms Wong, to be based in Hong Kong, will be responsible for developing and implementing the regional business strategy of SSGA across north Asia and south east Asia.
She joins the firm from Columbia Threadneedle, where she was the vice chairman for Asia-Pacific and chief executive of the Hong Kong business. Prior to this, Ms Wong served as head of institutions at AllianceBernstein and head of business development at HSBC Asset Management.
