Rolleston, a former professional rugby player, will be joined in the race for insto fixed income and multi-sectors by two other new appointments, senior portfolio adviser Sandi Orleow and quantitative investment analyst
Darren Beesley.
Perpetual Investments group executive Richard Brandweiner said Rolleston, Orleow and Beesley would ramp up asset allocation, manager selection and quantitative investment.
Rolleston, a two-time winter Olympian in bobsleigh, has more than 15 years’ market experience and was previously an executive director at Goldman Sachs, responsible for structured asset solutions.
At Perpetual Rolleston will focus on fixed-interest credit and multi-asset solutions.
Rolleston’s inspiration comes from Olympic legend Al Oerter, who said: “There is no job, no amount of power, no amount of influence, and no amount of money that can give you the Olympic experience.”
Oerter was the first track and field athlete to win four consecutive Olympic titles in the same event.
Orleow, who comes from Towers Watson, will work on multi-asset management, beta prime and alternative strategies. While at Towers Watson, she was a senior investment consultant and head of private markets.
Beesley has come from Ankura Capital to work with existing portfolio managers Michael Blayney and Glen Foster on implementation capability and efficiency.
