Amanda Gazal, who is also Asia Pacific distribution COO at Deutsche Bank-owned DWS Group, will be assuming the position from April.

Ms Gazal is reported to bring 20 years of experience in financial services and business management, having spent most of her career in investment banking and asset management.

She has also held senior roles at Deutsche and Credit Suisse, across Asia and London.

She will be returning to her home country for the Perpetual job, to be based in its Sydney head office.

Chief executive and managing director Rob Adams said the appointment was key as Perpetual continues to focus on its growth across its business.

“The creation of the COO role as a result of our Operating Model Review underpins our strategy to diversify globally as we reposition ourselves and continue to invest for sustainable growth, seeking synergies and efficiencies across our lines of business,” Mr Adams said.

“I look forward to Amanda’s enterprise leadership capability and fresh perspective. Amanda’s extensive global experience leading teams through times of regulatory change to improve governance and efficiency will be a great asset to Perpetual.”

Ms Gaval commented: “I am very excited to be joining Rob and the Perpetual team. Perpetual’s longstanding heritage is well respected in the industry, and I am looking forward to the opportunities this new role will bring as the firm executes its growth strategy.”
