Fotine Kotsilas has joined the NGS Super leadership team as chief risk officer to support the fund’s next phase of growth.

Kotsilas joins NGS Super from NobleOak Life, where she was deputy chief risk officer. She brings more than 25 years of experience across general insurance, life insurance, superannuation and workers compensation, with previous senior roles at Suncorp, AMP, Resolution Life and icare.

NGS Super said her deep expertise in risk management and regulatory compliance has underpinned risk transformation initiatives, regulatory change implementation, corporate restructures and operational resilience programs across a range of financial services organisations.

The appointment of Kotsilas follows several other recent changes to the fund’s executive committee, including the appointment of Ben Facer as chief member officer and deputy CEO, who was formerly chief strategy officer and deputy CEO.

NGS Super’s former chief risk officer, Philippa Minney, was appointed as chief financial officer, while Luke Jansson was appointed as chief people officer.

CEO Natalie Previtera said these changes reflect NGS Super’s continued focus on delivering long-term value for members and positioning the fund for continued growth in an increasingly competitive and complex superannuation environment.

“We’ve brought together a refreshed, forward-looking executive team with the right capability mix to guide NGS through its next chapter,” she said.

“Fotine’s appointment strengthens our leadership bench at a time when strong risk oversight is more important than ever. Her broad industry experience and track record in building resilient, member-first risk frameworks make her an excellent fit for NGS and the future we’re building.”

Kotsilas said she was excited to join the NGS team at such a pivotal moment.

“NGS Super has a strong purpose and a clear ambition to grow while staying true to its values. I look forward to supporting the fund’s strategy through disciplined risk management and the fostering of a strong risk culture” she said.

Kotsilas commenced in the role this week, following a period where Graeme Alexander served as acting chief risk officer.
