Mr Richtor will commence the role from 1 September.
He currently is chairman of RateSetter Australia and a non-executive director of TMB Bank in Thailand.
During his tenure with ING, Mr Richtor led the establishment of digital bank, before subsequently being appointed managing director of ING Vysya Bank in India where he was said to head a successful turnaround.
Following that, he was CEO and head of retail banking of ING, Asia.
Miles Hampton, chairman of MyState said the company was pleased with Mr Richtor’s appointment to the board.
He commented the new boss will “bring significant banking and digital experience to the MyState board having worked extensively within the industry in Australia and overseas and we look forward to his contribution.”
