Adrian Stewart has left his role at Challenger after being appointed as the new head of retail distribution for Macquarie Professional Series.

In his new role, Stewart will be responsible for showcasing the funds and their managers to financial advisers Australia-wide.

With more than 16 years of experience in the financial services industry, Stewart’s last role at Challenger involved distributing a range of investment funds, including Challenger’s own and those of affiliated businesses.

Stewart brings the skills and expertise to become a driving force for the Macquarie Professional Series, said head of sales and marketing for Macquarie Adviser Services Peter Shepherd.

“Macquarie Professional Series is an exclusive collection of what we believe are the best managers from around the globe in their particular style or asset class,” Shepherd said.

“The combination of high quality funds, plus Adrian’s expertise, should deliver real benefits to advisers and their clients.”

The Macquarie Professional Series comprises fund managers Arrowstreet Capital, Concord Capital, European Investors Inc (EII), Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Walter Scott & Partners and Winton Capital Management.

Macquarie indicated that it has no plans to further expand the Professional Series team, however it is currently considering new products from existing fund manager partners.
