Fidelity hires sustainable investing analyst from Macquarie

According to the firm, the appointment will complement its sustainability capability.

Fidelity International has announced the appointment of Sue Lyn Stubbs to the role of sustainable investing analyst.

Ms Stubbs joins from Macquarie Capital, where she was an ESG equity research associate evaluating Australia’s 300 largest listed companies on ESG and sustainability initiatives. Her team ranked number one in Australia for ESG research in the Peter Lee Associates Survey.

Before her time at Macquarie, Ms Stubbs was a senior portfolio analyst at an impact investing fund and a senior associate in equity capital markets at Citigroup Australia.

In her new role, Fidelity said that she will focus on ESG engagement and research of sustainable investment thematics and work closely with the firm’s investment and global sustainable investing teams to integrate sustainability into its investment processes.

“I am very excited to have Sue Lyn on board, she will help complement the Australian sustainability capability through her deep research and analytical skills, as well as strategic thinking,” commented Fidelity head of sustainable investing, Australia, Daniela Jaramillo.

“ESG continues to be a top priority at Fidelity. Building out the capability and coverage of our global sustainable investing team both here in APAC and in Europe, signals just how important this is to us as a firm and to our clients.”

Ms Stubbs studied at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a BSc in Economics at the Wharton School and a BA in International Studies as part of the Huntsman Program.

Last year, Fidelity appointed Satoko Asai to the Melbourne-based role of director, institutional business. Among her responsibilities is working closely with Fidelity’s investment and sustainable investing teams to deliver sustainable solutions to institutional investors.

Lawrence Hanson was also named by Fidelity as its new managing director, Australia, in October.
