With the recent floods and other dramatic weather events such as drought and bushfires bringing the effects of climate change into sharper focus, there has never been a more important time for advisers to hone their skills to conduct effective client conversations on responsible investing.

The ESG Summit 2023 will take place on 23 March 2023 in Sydney and 29 March 2023 in Melbourne.

It is jam-packed with sessions to help advisers meet their clients’ changing preferences towards investments that incorporate environmental sustainability, robust governance policies, transparency, and social equality.

The summit will unpack the latest trends in the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) landscape in 2023 and beyond, and offer practical strategies so advisers can contribute to it and make a difference in the battle to stop climate change.

It will also provide a comprehensive update on the latest industry legislation and regulations in ESG investing.

Advisers will hear about how they can leverage superannuation to secure the best outcome for their clients, how to provide risk-managed ESG advice at scale, and how to manage and leverage the intergenerational wealth transfer and prepare for future clients.

Alongside this, they will be treated to a captivating session on the ACCC’s latest campaign against greenwashing and its crackdown on companies that lack transparency on their ESG definitions.

They will discover what greenwashing really is and how it is impacting industries and organisations, and how to identify companies with misleading ESG marketing claims or business reviews.

The ESG Summit 2023 will be an interactive forum where advisers can ask questions and gain access to tangible strategies and steps to learn how to tackle the shift towards ethical investing while complying with the best interest duty.

It is a must-attend event for environmentally and socially conscious financial advisers looking to gain a deeper understanding of strategies for ESG investing.

Speakers include Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA) CEO Simon O’Connor, Ethinvest senior financial adviser Mike Josephson, Australasian Centre For Corporate Responsibility executive director Brynn O’Brien, and Fox & Hare co-founder and financial adviser Glen Hare, among others.

In addition, the summit will hear from advisers who are providing ESG advice to their clients, how they made the internal shift to focus on ESG, and how they navigated their initial client conversations.

“We’re returning in 2023 with two in-person events following the amazing reception we received at our event earlier this year, including a huge turnout across both Sydney and Melbourne,” InvestorDaily editor Maja Garaca Djurdjevic said.

“Advisers are thirsty for information on how to navigate the increasingly popular and extremely important world of ESG. It is for this reason that we’re back for a third year with specially tailored sessions that promise to arm our advisers with an in-depth scope of what’s new in ESG, addressing the rapidly evolving client expectations and offering tangible takeaways that can help you create change today.”

The ESG Summit 2023 will be held on 23 March at Aerial UTS Function Centre in Sydney and on 29 March at Grand Hyatt Melbourne.
