BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) has expanded its fixed income investment team as it prepares to launch a new Australian fixed income capability for institutional and retail investors, including an offering in the separately managed accounts area.

The new additions to the team include Jasmin Argyrou, who joins as portfolio manager, Dominik Dumaine, who has been appointed to the role of credit analyst, and Dean Allan, who will take up the position of administrative manager.

Argyrou joins the team from Schroder Investment Management, where she held the position of fund manager in fixed income.

Previous to this role she worked for eight years at UBS Global Asset Management as a senior fixed income researcher and director, focusing on the Asia-Pacific fixed income markets.

Dumaine joins the team from the BNPP IP’s office in Paris, where he spent the past two years covering investment-grade, crossover and high-yield securities in the automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical and steel and mining sectors.

He has more than 10 years’ experience as an analyst, previously working for Solent Capital, Fore Research & Management and Citigroup, covering various sectors and products, including bonds, leveraged loans, distressed debt and credit derivatives.

Allan, who will take on the role of fixed income business manager, joins the team from BNP Paribas Securities Services where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of external investment managers.

He has also held previous positions with Suncorp Portfolio Services and JP Morgan Securities Services.

“We are delighted to be welcoming such an experienced team,” BNPP IP chief executive in Australia Robert Harrison said.

“The individuals come from broad backgrounds and are part of our effort to deepen our investment management capabilities in response to client demand.”

BNPP IP said details of the fixed income fund would be announced shortly.
