Bloomberg, a leading provider of financial data and technology solutions, has announced that it has been named Best Market Data Provider for its real-time market data feed, B-PIPE, at the WatersTechnology Asia Awards 2023.

In a statement last week, the company said that this win adds to the suite of financial data awards Bloomberg has won in a number of major markets, including for several categories at the 2022 Waters Ranking Awards held in the United States.

Recognising the critical role of timeliness and accuracy when navigating rapidly evolving markets, Bloomberg emphasised the significance of B-PIPE in empowering financial institutions with real-time data.

“B-PIPE, Bloomberg’s flagship market data feed, meets clients’ needs through delivering consolidated and normalised real-time streaming prices to service the full spectrum of front office use cases including execution, pricing, risk, portfolio accounting, and display blotters,” the company explained.

Specifically, the service provides low latency access to 35 million instruments across all asset classes, aggregated from over 350 exchanges and more than 5,000 contributors, as well as unique pricing sources and market indices, according to Bloomberg.

A notable advantage of B-PIPE also lies in its “tick for tick” market data and supplemental services, accessible from anywhere, including major public cloud providers, enabling clients to focus on analysis and decision making while helping reduce overall ownership costs and administrative burdens.

“This award win showcases Bloomberg’s commitment to investing in our real-time content and technology, as well as providing industry-leading service across markets,” commented Cory Albert, global head of real-time data and technology at Bloomberg.

“We’re excited to continue expanding and establishing our presence in the market data space through further enhancing our real-time platform, enabling customers to automate more of their workflows with the highest quality data, all while benefiting from our flexible and scalable delivery options — whether deployed or in the cloud,” Mr Albert concluded.

Christopher Ruberry, head of Buy-Side enterprise solutions Australia at Bloomberg, expressed pride in the company’s recognition at the WatersTechnology Asia Awards via his LinkedIn profile.

“The annual awards celebrate and recognise the initiatives, innovations and achievements of the industry’s technology and data providers over the past 12 months,” he added.
