“This enhancement means clients will have access to a complete range of insurance features within the convenient framework of their superannuation, pension or investment accounts,” Axa head of individual life Stephen Rosengren said.

Axa will also introduce blended premiums, which offer a cheaper alternative to stepped rates.

“The blended premiums are a great way to make insurance more accessible to our younger clients. By combining stepped and level premiums in a hybrid plan – much like a mortgage combining fixed and variable elements – advisers can help ensure their clients’ insurance remains affordable,” Rosengren said.

“It also means younger clients can retain their cover more easily at an age when they are most likely to claim.”

In addition, Axa will enable clients to link their non-super trauma and total and permanent disability options to a self-managed superannuation fund-owned life insurance plan.
