AMP has announced the appointments of Kathleen Bailey-Lord and Anna Lebeil as independent non-executive directors to the AMP Limited and AMP Bank boards.

Ms Bailey-Lord joins the firm with more than 25 years of experience in board and senior executive leadership roles across international, public, private and for-purpose enterprises.

Namely, she is chair of Janison Education Group and non-executive director of Alinta Energy, Datacom Group, and St Vincents Health Australia, in addition to previously serving on the boards of Bank of Queensland, Monash College, QBE Insurance, and the University of Melbourne.

Ms Bailey-Lord has also served in senior executive roles at ANZ, PMP, Phillips Fox Lawyers, IBM Australia and New Zealand, and as chief executive officer at Fordham Group.

Meanwhile, Ms Leibel, who has also been appointed to the risk and compliance committee, joins AMP with experience spanning senior executive and non-executive leadership positions across a spectrum of service sectors.

Ms Leibel currently serves as a non-executive director at Secure Electronic Registries Victoria and Alfred Health and has previously served on the board of Ambulance Victoria.

She also spent two years at UniSuper as chief delivery and information officer and has held senior executive roles with PwC and Telstra.

AMP has also announced that Kate McKenzie will step down from her role as non-executive director on both the AMP Limited and AMP Bank boards after three years of service, effective 31 December.

Commenting on the board reshuffle, AMP chair Debra Hazelton said: “I would like to sincerely thank Kate for the invaluable experience, insight and governance she has brought to the board. Her commitment and passion for the business over the past 3 years has been instrumental to the ongoing transformation of AMP.”

“I am also delighted to welcome Kathleen and Anna to the board. We have sought to continue to build on the skills of the board to develop in the areas of technology and customer-focused transformation which are critical to AMP’s success into the future,” Ms Hazelton continued.

“Both Kathleen and Anna will complement the existing skills of the board as AMP embarks on the next phase of its strategy, building its banking and wealth management businesses in Australia and New Zealand.”
