The changes include the new role of group executive advice and banking, to be responsible for AMP’s advice, banking and corporate superannuation business portfolios. This role will be filled by former head of product Rob Caprioli.

Gordon Lefevre has been appointed as chief financial officer, responsible for AMP’s finance function, effective 1 March 2014. He replaces the departing Colin Storrie, who has been with the company since 2011.

Pauline Blight-Johnston has been elevated to the leadership team after joining AMP from RGA Reinsurance Company earlier this year.

Ms Blight-Johnston was director, wealth protection and mature products, and will now fill the role of group executive insurance and superannuation, responsible for AMP’s risk insurance, retail superannuation, investment and pensions, and platforms business portfolios.

Wendy Thorpe has also been elevated to the group leadership team from the AMPFS leadership team, but continues with responsibility for customer service, contact centres and back-office administration in the role of group executive operations.

Matthew Percival also has an expanded role, taking on chief of staff responsibilities as group executive public affairs and chief of staff, responsible for AMP’s public affairs function and the office of the CEO.

Continuing in similar roles to their current ones, the group leadership team also includes:

  • Stephen Dunne, managing director AMP Capital, responsible for AMP’s investment management, investment performance and Asian growth strategy portfolios.
  • Paul Sainsbury, chief customer officer, responsible for AMP’s customer and self-managed superannuation business portfolios.
  • Brian Salter, general counsel, responsible for AMP’s legal and governance functions.
  • Fiona Wardlaw, group executive people and culture, responsible for AMP’s human resources function.

Jonathan Dean has left the leadership team, moving from a role as general manager of group strategy to a new role as chief innovation officer, reporting to Paul Sainsbury.

AMP chief executive Craig Dunn welcomed Mr Lefevre to the CFO role, saying he brings “significant financial services knowledge and leadership capabilities to AMP and will be pivotal in capitalising on the success of the merger for AMP”.

Mr Lefevre has almost 20 years’ experience in senior finance and leadership roles and joins AMP from Grocon, where he is chief financial officer.
