Remara Investment Management has appointed Scott Morgan as its new head of real estate (RE) credit as the organisation plans to launch further real estate-focused funds to the market.

According to Remara, the announcement comes after the launch of its Credit Opportunities Fund in March, with the appointment set to support the expansion of divisions across its investment portfolio.

Morgan brings more than 25 years of experience working in global and domestic specialist real estate investment firms, most recently as a senior portfolio manager at Trilogy Funds.

Moreover, he has held a number of directorships and senior management roles at organisations including 360 Capital Group, Deloitte, and ICG Newground.

“Scott is a great addition to our team and keeps us ahead of our ambitious growth goals. He has been on all sides of a real estate transaction and has a long track record of diligent investment decisions that deliver strong returns,” Remara managing partner Andrew McVeigh commented.

McVeigh clarified that the latest leadership team addition follows the recent appointment of Ben Dixon as head of distribution and the launch of two new funds in the previous 12 months.

“We’ve been working to construct a range of investment opportunities that are new and unique to Australian investors. Delivering the market a new opportunity – strong returns from historically underappreciated investment classes. It requires an experienced team that can work together to deliver on that promise,” he continued.

“The launch of our new funds, and these recent senior appointments, signal we’re ready to disrupt the market for experienced investors and launch something at scale that’s quite original.”

Morgan added: “Remara’s growth in recent years has been something to watch, as they have built an experienced and diligent team.”

“I am looking forward to leveraging my experience across every aspect of a real estate transaction to help our clients realise strong returns for years to come,” he concluded.

Remara is an Australian-based private credit investment fund managing in excess of $950 million across private credit, real estate, and tactical opportunities.
