AFA forms government committee

The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has formed a 14-strong committee to collaborate with the federal government and corporate regulator on policies and key issues.

The government and policy committee will focus on issues such as increasing the superannuation guarantee levy to 15 per cent and improving consumer literacy and education.

The committee will also respond directly to all major government inquiries regarding the financial services industry.

Michael Murphy has been appointed committee chair and Christina Kalantzis has been appointed co-chair.
AFA national president Jim Taggart, AFA national treasurer Denis Bateman , AFA Western Australia state treasurer Stephen Knight, past AFA president Joe Nowak and AFA chief executive Richard Klipin all part of the committee.

Jenny Brookhouse, Andrew Lowe, Tim Cobb , Karen Davis, Steve Browning, Chris Matlock and Jon De Vries  make up the other committee members.
