The Financial Services Council (FSC) has welcomed super specialist Kelly Power to its leadership.

The FSC announced on Monday that Kelly Power, chief executive officer of Colonial First State Superannuation, has joined the FSC board.

Ms Power brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services to the role, with the FSC applauding in particular the part she has played in transforming the CFS Super and Investments business.

Ms Power was previously the head of platforms at BT Financial Group, where she also held a number of other executive management roles.

Speaking on her appointment, Ms Power said: “I am excited to be joining the FSC board.”

“This is an exciting period of innovation and competition in the sector, and I look forward to working with my fellow FSC directors to drive positive change for consumers and help shape the future of financial services in Australia.”

In a post on his personal LinkedIn page, Blake Briggs, the CEO at the FSC, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Kelly Power, CEO of Colonial First State.”

“Kelly is a senior industry leader and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the FSC as we continue our leadership role on behalf of members and their customers.”

Last August, the FSC announced Renato Mota, CEO of Insignia Financial and Alison Telfer, country head for asset management Australia and New Zealand of UBS Asset Management, had been appointed as the new directors to the FSC board.
