A multi-boutique asset management firm has appointed a new non-executive director to its board.

Warren Lee has been appointed as a non-executive director of Warakirri Assement Management Ltd (Warakirri).

Mr Lee - who is a former Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) and AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Australia & New Zealand CEO -  enters his new role with 30 years of experience in the financial services sector, both domestically and internationally.

His strong focus on stakeholder management, strategy development and execution and his extensive experience has made him a welcome addition to the privately owned Warakirri board. Mr Lee is also a member on the boards of Metlife Insurance Limited, MyState Limited and Tower Limited.

Warakirri managing director Jim McKay welcomed the appointment, stating that he is “delighted” to have Mr Lee on the Warakirri board.

“His extensive knowledge and experience will be a huge asset as our business continues its rapid growth.”

“We look forward to his advice and guidance as we manage our role as a fiduciary of our client’s assets and as employer of choice for our people," Mr McKay said.

Mr Lee commented that his appointment is a great privilege and that he’s “committed to ensuring that the firm’s focus remains on delivering superior outcomes for clients.”

“I look forward to helping guide the team’s actions and decisions to continue to achieve this," Mr Lee said.

Mr Lee noted the firm’s growth and diversified business, along with its strong commitment to independent governance as the reasons why he was attracted to the role.

He has also been appointed as a non-executive to other related entities such as Warakirri Holdings, as well as becoming a member of Warakirri’s Audit and Risk Committee.
