Perpetual Investments has appointed a general manager of retail sales.

Perpetual Investments has appointed Matt Mckinnon to the role of general manager of retail sales Australian equities.

Mckinnon was previously the group's general manager of sales superannuation and investment solutions (SIS).

Mckinnon, who has over 14 years of experience in funds management and investment banking in Australia and overseas, joined Perpetual in 2006.

He will be succeeded by Perpetual Investments' former senior business development manager for SIS Paul Norris.

"Mr Mckinnon has an excellent sales track record," Perpetual Investments executive for business services Cathy Doyle said.

"In the past 18 months, the SIS sales team under his leadership has developed significant sales momentum across its key products and was ranked first for platforms sales in 2008 and attained a top 10 market share ranking for Wealthfocus," she said.

Norris, who replaces Mckinnon, brings more than 15 years of experience in financial services to his new role.

Since joining Perpetual in 2005, he has also held the role of senior client services manager.
