ASFA appoints a new chair who has 20 years experience at AMP, and fills other board and committee positions.

The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) announced a new chair along with other appointments last week, as the board convened for the first time since its annual general meeting.

Outgoing ASFA chair Rosemary Vilgan will be succeeded by Greg Healy, Director of AMP Corporate Superannuation.

"This is an important role, as the board provides overall governance of the ASFA organisation," Vilgan said.

Healy was previously chair of the ASFA Administration and Finance Committee.

He has more than 20 year experience with AMP and has served on the ASFA Board since 2001. He is currently responsible for the overall management of the AMP corporate superannuation master trust portfolio.

Vilgan, chief executive of Government Superannuation Office (GSO) and QSuper Limited, has overseen a number of significant initiatives during her tenure. These include updating the ASFA constitution and reducing the board from 20 to 10.

The board of ASFA paid tribute to Vilgan for her committed service to superannuation for the past three years. She will remain on the board as a member.

Roslyn Ramwell has been elected to replace Healy as chair of the ASFA Administration and Finance Committee.

The board has re-elected chief executive of AustralianSuper Ian Silk to chair the Policy Committee and Michele Dolin as chair of the Member Services Committee. ASFA also welcomed new board member chief executive of Qantas Super Janet Torney.

"The board is very pleased to have our most senior roles filled by such recognised leaders in the superannuation industry," an ASFA spokesman said.
