Stockbroking clients of IRESS will now be able to trade securities listed on the National Stock Exchange.
The agreement between IRESS and the National Stock Exchange (NSX) builds on the existing market data feed of NSX securities available through IRESS.
NSX managing director Ann Bowering said, "We are delighted to be working with IRESS to provide direct access to trading on the NSX market by leveraging the IRESS network and trading community."
As a result of the deal, Ms Bowering said, the companies listed on the NSX will have access to "significantly greater liquidity" across SMSF, wholesale and retail investors.
"This connectivity will form the backbone of product and service innovation by NSX, which will focus on providing a more integrated, end-to-end solution to NSX listed companies and their investors," she said.
IRESS managing director of financial markets Kirsty Gross said, "This is good news for IRESS users, as it provides seamless access to a further local stock exchange building on the range of domestic and international exchanges on offer."
