Robbie Bennetts has established a new financial services business.

Former chief executive and founder of Professional Investment Services (PIS) Robbie Bennetts has launched a business consisting of a collaboration among different service providers focusing on financial services and technology.

"Over the last few months, I've seen first-hand the power and efficiencies that new technologies can bring to financial services businesses, and the power that social media bring to marketing strategies, especially for small businesses," Bennetts said.

"Those technologies and media tools are at the core of the new business."

Trading as Robbie Bennetts Enterprises, the operation comprises three financial planning dealer groups, a business specialising in debt advice, a data storage business for dealer groups, a technology provider covering cloud applications, telecommunications and social media, and an events management arm.

One of the key objectives set by the new business is to maximise the cross-promotional opportunities among the different businesses within the group in relation to both products and referrals.

"Our objective is to bring innovative thinking and technology solutions to the traditional financial services business model to deliver greater efficiencies and financial returns to the partners and owners," Bennetts said.

"In particular, for the planners and accountants we recruit, we'll be introducing new revenue streams which are outside the scope of FOFA (Future of Financial Advice) and AFS (Australian financial services) licensing."

The new operation will be based on the Gold Coast.

Bennetts was made redundant from PIS in October last year.
