Graeme Colley has been appointed SPAA director of education and professional standards.

The Self-Managed Super Fund Professionals' Association of Australia (SPAA) has appointed Graeme Colley to the newly-created role of director of education and professional standards.

In his new job, Colley will be responsible for developing the association's professional standards and education program.

Colley brings to the new position 30 years of industry experience with a particular focus on taxation and superannuation.

He leaves his role as national technical manager at ANZ's financial wealth arm, OnePath, after a 10-year period of service to join SPAA.

Prior to OnePath, he was employed by the Australian Taxation Office and was assistant commissioner of the Insurance and Superannuation Commission.

"The opportunity to be further involved in an organisation that continues to go from strength to strength in representing a significant part of the Australian superannuation industry is something not to be missed. Education of professionals and continuous professional development is imperative in an industry which will continue to change dynamically in the immediate future," he said of his appointment.
