Aberdeen has added to its nine-person Australian fixed income team.

Investment manager Aberdeen has expanded its Australian fixed income team with two senior hires.

John Manning joins the firm as investment manager and senior credit analyst, while David Choi joins in the role of assistant investment manager.

Manning was most recently director of credit strategy for Royal Bank of Scotland's Australia and New Zealand business.

He has more than 22 years' experience in the financial services industry.

Choi previously worked for New South Wales Treasury Corporation, where he had portfolio dealing and management responsibilities.

Manning and Choi join Aberdeen's team of nine Australian fixed income investment professionals, who manage almost $15 billion in assets in segregated mandates and unit trusts.

"We are pleased to have an investor of the calibre of John Manning join our team. John's credit analysis skills are highly respected in the Australian market and well suited to the Aberdeen investment process," Aberdeen head of Australian fixed income Victor Rodriguez said.

"The addition of David Choi enhances our experienced rates strategy team."
