Insyt has improved its information platform for SMSF practioners.

Information facilitator Insyt has upgraded the delivery and functionality of its Superclear reference tool launched 12 months ago.

Originally delivered to users in a PDF format the information platform now uses eComPress as its means of distribution.

"We've taken it to the next level. The PDF had the limitation of speed, searching functionality, and the ability to export the data," Insyt founder Darren Wynen said.

The user features on the platform have also been improved to allow greater interaction and use of the information sources provided.

"Extracts referenced on Superclear can be exported to any other Windows application or can be emailed to whoever needs to receive it," Wynen said.

The updated facility also allows for collaboration among users.

"It allows you to include your own material onto our platform. It means users can drag any rulings, website links, or other documents and pop it on to the platform as a note. When it's done the text will be fully searchable as well," Wynen said.

"It gives users the ability to customise my database with their own information too," he added.

To gain access to the upgraded platform users must download the eComPress application onto their computer or server.

"Every quarter we send them an online link that brings in the new version, brings across all of the notes and collaborations and off they go," Wynen explained.

He said Insyt deliberately avoided making Superclear a web-based application when looking at the upgrade.

"The reason we've steered clear of the web is twofold. Number one is that users can't collaborate on the web so you can't use it to build your own customised database. And secondly you just can't get the searching speed we require on the web," Wynen said.
