John Peta has stepped into the role of senior fund manager to lead the firm's emerging market debt team alongside Henry Stipp.

He will be responsible for a variety of strategic initiatives across the emerging market business, including a focus on local currency debt strategy.

In addition, Tammie Chan has been appointed as a fund manager for investment grade insurance funds, Ryan Staszewski has joined the investment grade team as a corporate credit analyst while James Waters has been recruited as a fixed income investment specialist.

As well as these key appointments, Threadneedle head of fixed income John Cielinkski has made a number of staffing changes to the firm's global fixed income team since announcing a restructure in April.

The reform was designed to enhance collaboration and integration across its fixed income platform and to better respond to changing market dynamics.

"[Mr Peta's] appointment further strengthens our established emerging market debt capability, as well as our broader fixed income platform," Cielinkski said.

"His expertise, particularly in local currency debt, significantly enhances the experience of the team and we look forward to his contribution to our culture of collaboration, discussion and debate."

In June this year, Clifford Lau joined as head of Asia Pacific fixed income, based in Singapore, and the following month Zara Kazaryan joined as fund manager in London focused on emerging market corporate debt.

Mindaugas Lepeska was also appointed as an emerging markets analyst.

Threadneedle's fixed income team now comprises of 48 investment professionals across emerging and developed markets. The firm manages over £29 billion ($36.8 billion), in fixed income assets as at 30 June 2012.
