BankWest has launched a savings account offering 8 per cent interest a year.
The BankWest Regular Saver Account is free from account fees.
Leading independent information provider InfoChoice has endorsed BankWest's new product.
Customers receive the 8 per cent a year interest on the account, paid monthly, when they deposit between $50 and $500 in that month, make no withdrawals during that month and link the account to another eligible BankWest account.
The launch follows last month's announcement of the Perth-based BankWest's expansion plans.
BankWest plans to open an additional 160 branches on Australia's east coast in the next three to four years.
