Colonial First State Global Asset Management has strengthened its Australian distribution team.

Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM) has strengthened its Australian distribution team with Anthony McFadyen named new head of business development.

CFSGAM global head of business development and deputy chief executive Neil Cochrane said McFadyen would be responsible for driving the development and implementation of the group's distribution strategy, sales management function and client service standards.

The former Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) head of business development has also held senior sales and service positions with INVESCO and ING Investment Management.

McFadyen has also worked in roles ranging from derivatives and arbitrage trading, to treasury management.

He will commence with CFSGAM on 16 July 2007.

McFadyen's appointment comes a day after CFSGAM added to its global equities team with the posting of Katharine O'Donovan to the role of group global financial services specialist.
