Bennelong Funds Management has appointed ex-Antares Jeff Phillips as chief financial officer.

Bennelong Funds Management (Bennelong FM) has appointed Jeff Phillips as chief financial officer, commencing 12 June.

Phillips joins the company from National Australia Bank-owned Antares where he was chief operating officer.

The appointment completes Bennelong's plans for team expansion, Bennelong Funds Management chief executive Jarrod Brown told InvestorDaily.

"[Now] the focus is on advancing the boutiques and the team we have has capacity," Brown said.

"At the moment, there are no other changes. It is the last of a number of appointments. We are back to the full complement now."

Phillips will head up the company's finance team, which has been expanded to meet the growing demands of the business.

"We received over 80 quality applications, leaving us spoilt for choice. We are pleased to have appointed Jeff, with his extensive experience in a range of leadership and operational roles," Brown said.

"I'm confident he will prove instrumental in delivering our strategy and continued growth into the future."

In other Bennelong hires, Hamish Wood was recently appointed as group finance manager, reporting to Phillips.

Nicole Hammond has also been appointed as senior fund accountant and Angela Cavuoto has joined the team as an assistant accountant.

National Australia Bank's wealth division, MLC, purchased Antares (formerly known as Aviva Investors Australia) in October 2011.
