Boutique fixed interest manager Altius Asset Management has appointed Don Stammer, Tony Fitzgerald and Wayne Jarman as members of its investment advisory committee.

Altius chief investment officer Bill Bovingdon said the new members brought invaluable insights into economic and financial market issues on a local and global basis, enabling Altius to enhance its investment approach.

"Don, Tony and Wayne are all highly respected and extremely knowledgeable industry figures and we will benefit significantly from their experience and understanding of the investment environment and trends that affect fixed interest as well as investment markets generally," Bovingdon said.

Stammer was previously a director of ING Australia before his current non-executive director roles at Praemium, ING Private Equity Access and Kaplan Higher Education.

Fitzgerald has held senior positions at Bankers Trust Australia, UBS Australia and Bank of America Australia, and is currently chairman of Colonial First State (CFS) Global Asset Management's credit committee.  He also previously held the role of co-head of global fixed interest and credit at CFS.

Before joining the Altius committee, Jarman was executive director of the New South Wales government's asset management committee.

His previous roles include RBC Capital Markets managing director and Asia-Pacific vice chairman, and NSW Treasury Corporation chief executive.
