Sampson has 25 years' experience in life insurance and wealth management and has held roles that include non-executive director of AXA Asia Pacific Holdings and chairman of National Mutual Funds Management.
He was formerly president and CEO of AXA Life Insurance Co. Japan.
The news comes following the recent appointment of Anthony Brown as chief executive of NobleOak.
Brown has more than 20 years' experience in marketing, strategy, operations and distribution.
Prior to joining NobleOak, Brown was chief operating officer at AMP Capital, head of strategy and marketing at Hillross (wealth advisory) and head of commercial insurance marketing at Suncorp.
