A third executive at Colonial has been promoted as the wealth manager looks to reward its senior employees.

Colonial First State's Scott Durbin has been promoted to head of platforms, becoming the wealth manager's third senior executive to move up the ranks in the last three months.

Durbin was previously senior manager, platforms and been involved in the product management, design and development of Colonial's flagship FirstChoice platform for several years.

Durbin succeeds Alan Kenny who was promoted to general manager, product and investment services in December. The job was previously held by new chief executive Brian Bissaker who took up his posting in November.

"From my perspective, [Durbin's appointment is] an indication of the very strong pool of talent at Colonial First State," Kenny said.

He said it was business as usual for Colonial's FirstChoice management team and an internal candidate will be sought to replace Durbin.

Durbin has been with Commonwealth Bank of Australia-owned Colonial for six years. He previously worked for Macquarie Bank and Deutsche Asset Management.
