BNP Paribas Investment (BNPP IP) has teamed up with investment manager Carnegie Asset Management to provide new long-term investment options in Australia.

The alliance will see BNPP IP provide client distribution as Carnegie extends their global equity product offering in the Australian market.

BNPP IP said it was Carnegie's reputation in delivering consistent, long-term asset growth for clients that influenced the decision to partner with the company.

"We conducted an extensive and in-depth search in order to find a global equities partner that matches our business scope and that we felt would provide compelling investment opportunities for the market," BNPP IP chief executive David Grybas said.

"With its experienced investment team, strong performance culture and long tradition in active portfolio management, we found Carnegie Asset Management to be a great addition to our multi-specialist model."

As part of the strategy, BNPP IP will retain their focus on client services and operations support while making use of Carnegie's investment management strategies.

"We were looking to further our client reach by partnering with a strong distributor, and BNPP IP has demonstrated proven success in this regard with other investment partners," Carnegie chief executive and global portfolio manager Bo Knudsen said.
