The S&P 500 and the ASX rose ahead of the announcement of the US$2 trillion dollar package, which has just been passed by the Senate.
It guarantees payments of up to $1200 for each adult and a boost to unemployment payments, as well as a $500 billion pool of taxpayer fund for states or businesses damaged by the coronavirus. Airlines and businesses important to national security will also receive bailouts.
