The newly-appointed assistant treasurer has been confirmed to address the AFA conference early next month.

The Honourable Stuart Roberts will address the Association of Financial Advisers conference at the Gold Coast on the final day of the event.

It will be Mr Roberts first public event to address financial advisers following the expected release of the Royal Commission Interim Report and the FASEA announcements.

AFA Conference chair Michael Nowak said that Mr Roberts attendance would give delegates an opportunity to hear directly from a government representative on their plans for the industry.

“It will also give the assistant treasurer the opportunity to get to know the AFA community and hear about the issues that are important to advisers,” he said.

Mr Nowak said he encouraged members to take advantage of the opportunity and find out how the financial services could be changing.

“With all that is going on in the ever-changing world of advice, we encourage our members to take advantage of the assistant treasurer’s attendance at our conference to discover what the government has planned for financial services and how it is likely to impact them,” he said.
