A number of former Australian equities managers at Macquarie will lead a new boutique under the Pinnacle banner.
Former Macquarie head of equities Patrick Hodgens and portfolio manager Blake Henricks have departed Macquarie to launch their own boutique fund called Firetrail Investments.
The pair worked together for 12 years at Macquarie on the High Conviction Fund – which they described as a “highly successful” product – and will set up the new fund within the the Pinnacle Investment Management stable.
Firetrail will focus on high conviction investment strategies, reflecting their experience at Macquarie, with a number of funds already in the market pre-launch.
Mr Hodgens takes on the role of managing director and portfolio manager, while Mr Henricks will be deputy managing director and portfolio manager.
