Pimco has appointed Gregory Hall as managing director, head of private strategies, to work with the company’s senior leadership across a number of management groups.
Mr Hall has worked in the investment industry for 18 years and joins Pimco from Blackstone Group, where he helped lead the development of a number of investment businesses.
In his new role, Mr Hall will manage private strategies across a number of real estate, distressed, opportunistic and credit strategies in private equity vehicles, the company said.
Pimco chief executive Emmanuel Roman said Mr Hall was a good fit for the role and would help the company grow its private strategies capability.
"Greg is an exceptional executive who is a tremendous addition to Pimco’s outstanding team of product managers, portfolio managers, analysts and others focused on our private strategies," he said.
"His leadership skills and industry expertise will be invaluable as Pimco continues to capitalise on opportunities for investors who are increasingly looking for expertise in private strategies to meet their investment goals."
