Global investment manager Pimco has named Jeffrey Thompson as executive vice president and portfolio manager with its commercial real estate team.
Mr Thompson will be based in the firm’s New York office and will focus on commercial real estate lending, reporting to executive vice president Devin Chen and managing director John Murray.
“Jeffrey brings more than 20 years of experience as an investment professional to our accomplished commercial real estate team, which continues to find significant investment opportunities in this space globally,” said Mr Murray.
The new appointment is part of a move to expand the firm’s global alternatives platform, the company said, describing commercial real estate lending as “an important area of growth”.
Mr Chen said the company was pleased to have Mr Murray join the commercial real estate team.
“As a tested portfolio manager in commercial real estate and private credit, Jeffrey’s hire further demonstrates the strength of talent and expertise we have at Pimco,” he said.
