Van Eck Global, the parent company of ETF provider Market Vectors, has hired a vice president of business development in Australia.
Damon Gosen will be tasked with promoting Market Vector ETFs to financial planners and stockbrokers, according to a statement by the company.
Mr Gosen, who will be based in Melbourne, has over 12 years of experience in financial services.
He makes the move to Van Eck from AMP Capital where he was a strategy manager for direct solutions.
Before that he was a senior investment specialist at Genesys Wealth Advisers, and he has also held a number of roles at AXA Australia.
Van Eck Global Australia managing director Arian Neiron said Mr Gosen's expertise in creating investment solutions for clients will "be a great asset for us as we continue to expand our operations".
"His investment research and portfolio construction knowledge will help advisers capitalise on the increasing popularity of ETFs, which are acknowledged for their low cost, transparency, liquidity and diversification benefits," Mr Neiron said.
"We expect the Australian ETF industry to grow beyond $23 billion in assets under management by the end of 2015, supported by new innovative products."
