As market conditions remained unpredictable and traditional asset classes faced pressure from macroeconomic uncertainty, the Australian Wealth Management Summit returned in 2025 to examine the rising role of alternatives in shaping portfolio construction.

Held over one day, the summit brought together senior investment professionals, asset consultants, economists, and advisers to explore how alternative investments – from private equity and real assets to private credit, infrastructure, and digital assets – were playing a more central role in institutional and wholesale strategies.

The program focused on how advisers and asset managers could position portfolios in a climate of elevated interest rates, sticky inflation, and subdued growth – conditions that were reshaping the traditional risk-return playbook. Sessions also addressed China’s shift towards AI-led growth, capital flows into semiconductors and robotics, and the growing relevance of tokenised assets and digital currencies in diversified portfolios.

Developed in partnership with leading voices across the financial services sector, the summit delivered a full-day agenda of analysis, discussion, and insight, tailored for professionals navigating the changing face of global capital markets.

Held in June in Sydney, the black-tie gala event brought together the industry’s top performers and stand-out fund managers. Attendees celebrated with the who’s who of the Australian financial services industry.

Individuals were encouraged to nominate a colleague or submit themselves into the category they were eligible for, while group finalists were chosen through meticulous judging criteria by our research partner Lonsec.

Finalists were shortlisted through a meticulous judging process, and winners were revealed on the night through further judging metrics.

Group award finalists were selected directly by our research partner Lonsec Research & Ratings.

Navigating the new world of financial advice

Underlying shifts in our technological bedrock had fragmented the financial advice landscape. The integration of functional AI had uprooted established service models and represented a fundamental shift in the ways advice was delivered. While this new interplay of technology and experience created opportunities for more personalised, holistic advice, it also harboured unforeseen risks for advisers and clients alike.

Held in June 2025 for its 11th year, the Adviser Innovation Summit prepared attendees to navigate these challenges by facilitating a leading exchange of new technologies and ideas. Developed in deep consultation with financial experts, the agenda interrogated the key political, technological, and social forces that affected the profession.
