Mr Kandasamy, who will be based in Melbourne, will report to FSI managing director and head of distribution, APAC, Lauren Prendiville.

According to the firm, he will be part of the ANZ distribution team, responsible for driving FSI’s institutional distribution strategy and deepening and expanding institutional client and consultant relationships in the region.

“We are pleased to welcome Kevin to the business. The depth of his experience will be an asset to the team and to our culture of putting our clients first,” Ms Prendiville said.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Kandasamy added: “First Sentier Investors has a long and successful track record as a responsible investor and a leading global asset manager.”

“I am thrilled to be stepping into this role and working with a talented team as we continue our commitment to providing a seamless experience for our clients.”

In March, FSI also announced a strategic partnership with AlbaCore Capital Group, which will diversify its investment offering to include alternative credit capabilities.

At the time, FSI chief executive officer Mark Steinberg said the strategic partnership is aligned with the firm’s corporate strategy, which focuses on accelerating growth by diversifying the range of investment capabilities it can offer to clients as well as expanding its global footprint.

“We identified alternative credit as a strategically important space for us to consider and we felt that AlbaCore’s unique position in the European market, its growth trajectory, and strong investment performance would be complementary to our existing capabilities,” Mr Steinberg explained.

As of 30 June 2023, First Sentier Investors managed $222.8 billion in assets on behalf of institutional investors, pension funds, wholesale distributors, investment platforms, financial advisers, and their clients worldwide.
