The investment manager has announced the two appointments this week.

Jacqueline Fernley has been appointed as Mason Stevens’ new chief investment officer (CIO), bringing a wealth of experience to the firm following roles at JB Were as head of equities, CFS’ Australian equity portfolio manager and Magellan’s portfolio manager, and head of research.

“As a ‘platform with a purpose,’ Jacqueline’s skills and background will support us in assisting our model managers in making quality portfolio decisions with discipline and rigour,” Mason Stevens CEO Tim Yule said.

“She is an experienced ‘hands-on’ portfolio manager and has a proven track record of delivering top quartile returns.”

Ms Fernley will join Mason Stevens’ new chief financial officer (CFO), Wayne Twomey, at the firm.

Mr Twomey has previously held a number of senior finance roles, including CFO at Mastercard for Australia and New Zealand, and PWC Australia.

Mr Twomey also spent a decade in the United States where he worked in a number of senior roles for American Express.

“Wayne brings experience, knowledge, and discipline, that will be critical to this important phase of development and growth for the business,” Mr Yule added.

“We are delighted to have talents of the highest calibre like Wayne and Jacqueline join our organisation.”
