The Australian fintech has named its new chief operations officer.

Emmi has announced Rebecca Bannan has been promoted to the role of COO to lead the execution of the fintech’s business strategy and growth plan.

Ms Bannan originally joined the carbon risk solution company last year and was formerly an investment director and consultant.

In her new role, Emmi said that Ms Bannan would manage the firm’s day-to-day operations and build its customer model centred around value creation.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Bannan said she was excited to utilise her expertise in investments and consulting to identify financial risks and opportunities presented by the carbon transition in partnership with Emmi’s clients.

“Emmi has come to the market at a time when investors are crying out for a solution that not only helps them understand, but evaluate and solve for carbon risk,” she said.

“We are welcoming new clients to Emmi including Jana, HESTA, Perennial, QIC and Acorn, all benefiting from Emmi’s quality data and quantitative approach to assessing carbon risk.”

Ms Bannan previously worked on the design and execution of investment strategy, including sustainability integration, with leading investment organisations.

She also previously worked with financial services organisations as a management consultant with a specialisation in business strategy and people and operating design and has expertise as an advisory portfolio manager running institutional money.

Emmi announced in December last year that its global carbon risk solution had secured $3.5 million in funding.
