Oliver Wyman’s Asia-Pacific managing partner Jacob Hook said Ms Cobley’s talent and experience complemented the firm’s expertise and capabilities in financial services.

“She brings over 30 years of experience in senior positions at some of the world’s top banks, enhancing our ability to support clients who are facing opportunities and challenges when it comes to sustainability in an advisory capacity,” said Mr Hook.

“Moreover, Lyn’s appointment both positions us well for, and cements Oliver Wyman’s continued growth trajectory in Australia. I’m delighted that we’ve been able to attract such high calibre talent.”

Ms Cobley is a member of Chief Executive Women, a senior fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Oliver Wyman said that her areas of expertise included “strategy and leadership, people and culture, transformation and technology, finance and risk, crisis management, investor and regulatory relations and navigating complexity in high-profile and regulated industries”.

She formerly served as a board member of the Australian Financial Markets Association, the Banking and Finance Oath and the Westpac Foundation.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Cobley acknowledged Oliver Wyman’s work in helping organisations to “articulate the how with practical know-how”.

“I wanted to utilise my skills and experience in this next stage of my career to make a difference, particularly when it comes to sustainability and climate action,” she said.

“This is why I took this opportunity to work with Oliver Wyman as they play a global role in the climate agenda as seen in their recent work with Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures and many more industry initiatives.”
