It was confirmed on Wednesday that Monica Hood will step into the role, joining the global sovereign bond manager from Centuria Capital.

Ms Hood has over 20 years’ experience in retail funds management and has previously worked with Charter Hall, Folkestone and Hunter Hall.

“I am pleased to welcome Monica to our Australian team. With our strong research ratings and growing coverage on model portfolios, APL’s and platforms, I know she has the candour and gravitas to really connect with advisers,” head of distribution Australia, Angela MacPherson, said.

“We are seeing an uplift in allocations to our global sovereign bond portfolios on the back of our defensive style and investor concerns around diversifying their exposures to risk assets such as property and equities.

“Advisers like the simplicity and transparency of our funds that makes it easy for investors to understand.”

Ms Hood, who will be based in Sydney, said she is “delighted” to be joining the local team.

“For me, Colchester’s appeal is its integrity, its single focus on managing sovereign bonds and its 20 year plus consistent track record,” she said.

“I look forward to working with both new and supporting advisors to build on our considerable distribution network of APL’s, model portfolios, SMA and managed account arrangements.”
