Sydney investment management and administration firm Mason Stevens has moved on plans to expand its national footprint, hiring a new sales director in Melbourne.

Former Challenger state manager David Johnson has taken the role, where he will be held responsible for managing client relationships and sourcing new business opportunities across Mason Stevens’ asset management and platform business.

Prior to his four-year stint with Challenger, Mr Johnson worked with BT Financial Group for almost a decade, where his last role was key account manager.

“David’s experience in strategic planning and implementation with large financial services providers brings to Mason Stevens a blueprint for the direction in which we are quickly heading, with ever increasing demand,” managing director Nick Mitchell said.

Mr Johnson will be based in the Melbourne office, which the company launched in 2019 to increase its distribution footprint.
